Northeast Georgia 4th of July celebrations

This is your guide to the July Fourth celebrations in Northeast Georgia. If you plan to attend these events, carry your water and wallet. You’ll need to stay hydrated in this mid-summer heat, and you may have to pay for parking and activities.

July 3

Gainesville

Patriotic Pops Concert, Wednesday, July 3, 8 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. The Northwinds Symphonic Band will be playing patriotic selections. Outdoor Concert on The Lawn at The Smithgall Arts Center – Rain or Shine! Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets, or Reserve a Table Up Front! Individual Tickets are $25; Tables of 8 are $35 Per Ticket (Required Purchase of 8 Tickets). All concert tickets are now subject to Georgia State Sales Tax and will incur an additional $5 per ticket to cover taxes and fees.

July 4

Dahlonega

Patriotic Downtown Parade begins at 3 p.m. and will go through the town square. You can find the best spot to view the parade at the Courthouse. The Kids Adventure Zone opens at 4 p.m. at Hancock Park is located just off Dahlonega’s Historic Square at the corner of North Park Street and Warwick Street. There will be face painting, caricatures, and games for the whole family. Free Concert in the Park starts at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks Show on the Drill Field start at dusk.

Demorest

Glorious Fourth of July activities begin at 2 p.m. in downtown Demorest with arts & crafts vendors and food. There will be a petting zoo, bouncy houses, cornhole, and horseshoe tournaments at Demorest Springs Park. The parade begins at 4 p.m. on Central Avenue/Historic Hwy. 441. Concerts in the park start at 6 p.m. with The Joe Olds Band, followed by John Berry from 7:45 to 9:15 p.m. Fireworks will be launched around 9:45 p.m. from behind City Hall at 250 Alabama Street.

Dillard

The City of Dillard fireworks display starts at dusk. The annual fireworks show can be seen from Dillard and Rabun Gap.

The Dillard House will host its annual cookout from 5:30 p.m.  – 8 p.m. There will be live entertainment by Hunter Grayson from Athens, Ga., for listening and dancing.

Gainesville

60th Annual Independence Day Celebration at Laurel Park. Gates open at 9 a.m. for a day-long celebration with arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, music, water play, and more. The Fireworks will begin at dark. Admission fee is $10 per car. Bring your lawn chairs. Laurel Park is at 3100 Old Cleveland Highway.

Helen

Annual Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and Helen Welcome Center. Come early, bring your chairs, and pick the perfect spot. The Helen Welcome Center is located at 726 Brucken Strasse.

Tiger

Stonewall Creek Vineyards are having live music. Bryant Tench will be entertaining from 2-5 p.m.  It is located at 323 Standing Deer Lane, Tiger.

July 5

Seed Lake

The Seed Lake Fireworks Show will start at 9 p.m. There are limited shoreline locations to view the fireworks. The best view is by boat. Residents of Seed Lake pay for the fireworks and the fireboat.

Sky Valley

The Sky Valley Grand Parade begins at 11:15 a.m. at Tahoe Lane and ends at Sky Valley Park. Parade entries will be given prizes and the Grandstand Master of Ceremony will announce the parade entries. All entries should be at Tahoe Lane by 10:45 a.m.

Fireworks will be on display and will start at 9:15 p.m. over the lake by the golf course.

July 6

Lake Burton

The Independence Day Fireworks Show begins at 9:30 p.m. from the South End of Billy Goat Island, Lake Burton. You can view the fireworks by boat or from a boathouse. There is a suggested donation of $100 per family.

Tiger

The Tiger Drive-In will host its annual fireworks and movie event. The Drive-In is located at 2956 Old 441 South, Tiger.  The movie will be “Despicable Me 4” starts at 9:30 p.m. with the fireworks show right before the beginning of the movie. There is a playground for children and a concession stand.

July 7

Lake Rabun

The Lake Rabun Wooden Boat Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. at Mathis Dam. This year, the parade is led by Admiral Thad Warren.
