It’s Independence Day week, and we will briefly gain some independence from the extremely high temperatures we’ve seen recently.
A front will push through on Monday, resulting in significantly cooler high temperatures by Tuesday. Highs are only expected to reach the mid/upper-70s in higher elevations, with the rest of us getting back into the low-80s, far better than the mid-90s we saw last week.
Overnight lows will be refreshing in the mid-60s, although some mountain areas could flirt with the upper-50s on Monday night.
Unfortunately, the heat is poised to return quickly as we head towards the holiday on Thursday, with afternoon thunderstorms also returning to the forecast. Fireworks displays will be a bit in jeopardy, but a widespread rainout is not expected.
Have a great week!
