Nearly every weather station across Northeast Georgia saw a record high set on Friday afternoon. Records were shattered by as much as 5 degrees as the upper-70s were reached across most of the region. A select few highs are below with both the old and new records. No all-time December records were broken locally, but areas around Athens saw the warmest temps ever recorded during the month of December.

Cleveland: Old record- 72; New record- 73
Cornelia: Old record- 73; New record- 78
Sautee: Old record- 70; New record- 76
Alto: Old record- 72; New record- 73
Blairsville: Old record- 70;  New record- 73
Gainesville: Old record- 74; New record- 75
Toccoa: Old record- 75; New record- 80
Hartwell: New record- 77

Saturday saw highs once again return to the 70s but remain below record high levels. By the time Sunday rolled around a backdoor front had ushered out these toasty temperatures and there aren’t any more big warm outbreaks expected over the next 7-10 days.
